We are having trouble with attachments in posts lately. Here are some guidelines on using the TRAT photo albums (which you all get immediate access to when you sign up), and also using photo hosting services like photobucket, to store images, which can be linked in your posts.
A good method is to use the triumphRAT.net photo album. This example uses that.
First upload your pictures to your triumphRAT.net album (see a subsequent post in this thread for info on that).
Have two windows open - the one in which you are making your triumphRAT.net post, and another one with the picture open.
Select the picture you want use. Underneath the picture is a column of icons:
There's a final icon underneath the "linked thumbnail" line at the bottom. Click on that, and you get two extra lines of code:
You can grab hold of the bottom line of code, and drag it (or copy and paste it) into the post that you are making. Your post will now have that line of code, something like this:
Now submit your post, and hey presto, as if by magic the picture appears:

Additional example
As with all things, there is more than one way to get your images into your post, here's another example using photobucket.
1. In your photobucket album, you will see many small versions of your pictures. Move your mouse arrow over one, and a little menu will drop down. At the bottom of the menu is a line called "IMG Code". Simply copy that line of code into your post, and your picture will appear when the post is submitted:
2. Also in photobucket, if you click on one of your small pictures, you will be taken to a larger version of the same picture. The same 4 lines of code are there. Again, copy the bottom line - the "IMG Code" and paste it into your post. When you click submit, the picture appears.

How to Upload Pictures to Your TRAT album
When you register on TriumphRAT.net you are automatically allocated an album to load photos to. The album is set up for you as soon as you register. You can also create sub folders within your album, but that is up to you.
This is how you upload photos to your album.
1. Go "Member Albums" - simply click on the link in the side bar (blue arrow in the picture below).
2. The next screen looks like the one below - it is the top page of member albums, and shows the most recently uploaded pictures by site members.
On the right hand side are several options, one of which is "upload photo" (indicated by the blue arrow in the pic below). Click on that:
3. The next screen is the one in which you will select your pictures. There are 3 bars (indicated by the blue arrow) that allow you to select a file each. Browse your computer with these, and select your pics. Once you have done that, click on the "upload/submit" button (indicated by the red arrow).
Note that there are some other options on the upload screen, which you should explore at your liesure.
4. You will now be taken to a page showing your newly uploaded picture:
Below the picture is a column of icons and various options - these can be used to paste the IMG code into your posts, as described earlier in this thread.

Open the photo in your Paint application, then click Image --> Stretch/Skew then reduce it by 50% for Height & Width. Then save it under a new name.

Download the photoresizer powertoy. There is a microsoft one for windows XP, and third party ones for windows 7. They allow you to quickly and easily resize pictures both in pixel size and file size to make them easier to manage.

Copy and Paste
I'm just curious why you can't just copy and paste images into your posts? Having to upload to a photobucket is such a PITA!

The folks to ask would be those that wrote the software that this and many other forum sites run on.

Because then the host would have to store the images on their server and pay to keep them there. That's very costly. The process used on this forum links your image, stored on your server, to their site.
I dig your avatar!
