Thruxton Center Stand on a Bonnie?
Will the Thruxton centerstand fit the Bonneville?
If there is a difference is it simply one of stand height or actual bolt up differences?

It will bolt up O.K., you will just need two people to help you lift the bike instead of one as the stand is taller.
The Bonneville centre stand stop is on the bottom of the muffler, not sure where the stop is on a Thruxton. There are ways to modify that issue anyway.

The two are different. I checked. I was not aware the Thruxton came with a centre stand. mine didn't. It was an aftermarket part and expensive too. I don't really understand why you want to fit an expensive after market part to a Bonnie which comes with a centre stand as standard. Whats going on here?

Don't think Bonnevilles come with centre stands as standard unless things are different in Brum these days.Used to be that parts would be missing when you got something, not added.
p.s. You realise that the Rocket 3 was designed as a 4 cylinder but somebody left the prototype parked outside one night.

Thanks 6t,
I can get a thrux. centerstand at a good price so I thought I could perhaps cut a little out of the legs and re-weld to correct
for the height. If they are the same bolt up specs as you note I'm guessing it may work out on my Bonnie.
Cheers.

centrestands
Lucky,
I fitted a Triumph centrestand to my T100, it didn't come with one as standard, it's an extra. As with my Scramblers and my pal Frank's Thruxton. I got my centrestand from him. It was fitted to his (used, 04) bike when he got it and the wheel was touching the ground. It otherwise fitted ok, so the reverse is probably true, a Thruxton centrestand will fit ok to a bonnie. If you can find one! I ordered a Thruxton stand from Triumph to put on Frank's bike, but they were unobtanium. Norman Hyde advertise one, but they didn't have one in stock when I asked earlier in the year.
I put bonnie length shocks on my Scramblers, which has the same effect height-wise, as fitting the Thruxton stand to the bonnie. Scrambler shock length / centrestand height is the same as Thruxton, so I can say that it was a bit of a heave to lift the lowered Scram' up with the Scram' centrestand. The lifting foot-lever on the Scrambler centrestand is different to the Thruxton, so wouldn't fit the bonnie without modification. It would clash with the l/h silencer.

i'm 99% sure that you have to use the specific centerstand for your model. i'm 100% sure that a scrambler stand wont work on a bonnie. they mount to the bikes differently. if u really want a centerstand just buy the one made for ur bike.

Hey LuckyBonnie,
I have a Bonnie centerstand on my 05 Bonnie Black, but need the taller one since I have raised the bike to Scrambler level. If you wanted to work out a swap, neither of us would have to modify the centerstands. I am in Windsor, ON. Let me know if you want to do the swap.
Cheers!
