2009 Tors

I see Triumph are now listing an aftermarket silencer for the 2009 alloy wheel models part number A9600382 look like the standard megaphone jobby. Anyone heard these yet, I have asked a local dealer to get a set in for me to have a peer at, I also wonder if they still have the cats in them like the standard silencer.

Seeing as they are "not for road use" there is no real need for them to have a cat installed. Personally, I'm not over keen on the shape. When I get around to changing them I plan to fit some T120 peashooters.

Anybody got a dyno result on these yet? Or ridden a bike with them installed, or even put a video on Youtube?

Personally I like the look of the standard cans, so this would be the way I would go.

I expect they are exactly the same part as the Thruxton TORS. Not new parts at all. Just that the Bonnie never had the megaphone style silencers before.

No they are different to the Thruxtons which have welded on hangers where the 2009 have 2 bolts attaching the silencer to the hanger also the inlet pipe is straighter entry on the 2009's but the body of the silencer looks the same.

They are the new Tors. I don't think they are even available yet. They where released last month.

Oh and the bends are different on Thrux cans so they aren't the same although sound would be the same.

Interesting

When I bought my SE this past spring, I had been told by Peter at Triumph USA that TORS would not be offered for the new style Bonnevilles. Had they been available at the time the dealers were receiving the new bikes, I would definitely have gotten them. So I got the new EFI Dominator Touring silencers as soon as they were available, and in retrospect I'm very happy that things worked out the way they did!

Today I stopped by the San Antonio dealership for oil and a filter, and asked the parts guy to look up the part number for the new Tors. The result was "not yet available", but it did give a price of $395.00 which is quite a bit less expensive than most of the alternatives. Are these silencers chrome or stainless? I was all set to buy some Predators from BC, but I think I'll wait a while. One of you lads or lasses from across the pond should buy a set of these Tors and give us all a detailed report.

When earlier this year I compared a standard Thruxton to an SE, the other difference in the pipes was the diameter of the outlet which was smaller on the SE.
