Change the '09 glue on tank emblems ?

I have an '09 Bonneville SE with the now glued on tank emblems. I would like to put on the vintage style (and larger) cross hatch style emblem.

Does anyone make a glue on version ?

Has anyone changed their late model emblems ? How hard is it to remove them ?

There are holes under those badges. Just pull off the ones you have and go get new screws at the hardware store after you get the new badges. It worked on my 08.

I have read that it is hit or miss on if you have the holes or not under the glue on badge. And at that the curvature of the new tanks is a hair different than the previous tanks. It can and has been done. With a heat gun, fishing line and some careful work will seem to get it off.

I will be following this one with interest, as I would be really interested in changing the badges for a screw on type.

Has anyone removed the sticky badges and NOT found screw holes?

Some early '08 had the holes under the badge. I've been told that later '08 builds and up do not have the holes...... but I could be wrong.

Mine is an 08 and it had holes. It may be an "early" 08, however, as there is an 07 manufacture date stamped on the frame.

Here's a tip if you do decide to take the glue badges off: You will be tempted to wiggle the badge back and forth aggressively when it's getting loose, but try not to do this. I scuffed the clear coat in one spot while trying to pry the ****er off.

The new badges cover the mark, and it's pretty small anyway, but I'd rather it weren't there. Heat + fishing line (or floss) + patience are what you need.

more tank badge stuff

Slinky,

If you have an SE, with what looks more like a glued on transfer than a badge, it probably doesn't have the holes. If you'd like the T100 glue-on badges, I kept mine. You can have them, free, since it's nearly Christmas

my tuppence worth on badges here: http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-talk...-bonnie-7.html

I appreciate the kind offer Johnny, but I already have the stick on badges, not the decals. They come on the SE as stock, only the base model gets decals.

Cheers,
Tom
