Well........I thought I had better own up to my terrible deed. I have traded my 01 Bonnie in. I bought this bike sight unseen from an ad in the newspaper back in 2001, and I had to wait a few months to get it.
It had been a long time between drinks for me, the last bike I owned ( Commando 850 ) I sold back in 1985.
The Triumph was a wonderful bike which gave me many hours of fun and enjoyment. I had all the extras I wanted on it , Tach, Knee pads, crab rail, center stand, chrome rocker cover, off road mufflers and triumph saddlebags which I bought to do a RAT run last year.
People always asked me about it, And I always told them that it was a great motorcycle. It was really very strange cleaning it for the last time ( this bike had never been wet ) however polished often. Riding to the dealer I felt like a traitor ..........but what can you do . Four years of great fun, it had to end one day.
I bought my new bike on impulse, just 2 hours after finding out of their release, but then again I have always knew I would try one at least once in my life. I am very happy with this new bike I have to say, one of the few bike makes with that certain something that the japs cannot copy. Triumph has that too, thats why I will always like them. My new bike is a Ducati S2R monster. A brand new model for 05.
I wish you all well with your bikes, they are truly magnificent machines. Even if you don't approve, take a look at the S2R, it is a great looking bike and is related very heavily to the S4R.
Keep safe everyone

Don't beat yourself up too much about it, buddy. If I were 20 years younger I'd think about a Monster myself. There's a lot of motorcycles out there. Try them all.

Keep the rubber side down,

Allan

Nice bike, and not a million miles away from the bonnie ...still has soul and that little something that makes it different to your UJM's.
Be intersted to know exactly how much of a change the duke brings to your riding

Take care and ride safe

That is a beautiful bike. I actually have a picture of the yellow/black one as my wallpaper...but, to be honest, if I were to go to a naked street bike I think I'd opt for the Speed Triple. Bigger engine (although I see the Sr2 increased from 750 to 800) that leaves me with a bigger wallet. Not that I wouldn't love to have them both...
