I recently bought a '02 Bonneville, but prior to that, I'd been away from motorcycles since 1972.

At what point in time did we start using the term "rear sets," and "front sets," instead of the word "footpegs?"

Is it a British thing, or what? Just wondering ... I like to use the right terminology.

rearsets refer to aftermarket foot pegs that are farther rearward, and sportier, than standard footpegs. Forward controls are for cruiser riders that like the obgyn stirrups feeling while riding.
