An interesting ride

Went on a no where special ride today. First place I stopped was at the town where I lived as a teen. Visited the new veteran's memorial in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
I then went to the Kettle Moriane Scenic road. Had a rather startling encounter with a group of bikes. Didn't know there was a professional race on that road. Felt like a fish going upstream.

Then went wandering about and found a neat road. Guess you could call it the perfect(for me, anyway) Scrambler road.

Add near perfect riding conditions and it was the type of day that gets you through the winters.

Oh yeah, those roads look nice - leafy green and a blue sky. Ride, ride, ride!

On Wisconsin!

Damn I love that state, have a cabin on a lake up in Harshaw, near Minocqua, and go up for the fall colors in September and to give the place a once over.
Lease it to a family in Chicago for the summer, to a group of snowmobilers in the winter and I get three weeks in the spring and fall.
Can't beat that deal.
It's a beautiful State everywhere, the Kettle Moraine area is super, over near the Mississippi is beautiful as well, the North central part of the state is full of lakes and only 30 miles from the UP.
Am thinking seriously about finally retiring up there and keeping the Florida place for the dead of winter when everything is frozen freaking solid up there....brrrrrrrr

Yes indeed - beautiful state with some fantastic roads - planning a ride over there tomorrow.

It does suck when you encounter a massive group of cyclists like that, but there it is. It sucks worse to encounter a similar sized group of cruisers, not that you ever do on those leafy lanes.

Nice photos. Thanks for posting. Gotta agree that it's days like that that keeps us going through the Winter.
