sixty8 city bags and FEK fitting
hey guys,
check out this pic:
i've come to the conclusion that riding around with a backpack sucks. especially in vegas...so i need to suck it up and figure out some sort of luggage solution here. i'm very anal about what goes on the bonnie, and any sort of tank bag, tail bag, or saddle bag IMO look so nasty on the bonnie!!! just destroys the look of the bike.
soo, the only ones i find tolerable are the city bags, but with teh location of my turn signals there i don't think it'll fit cuz the stock mudguard places the rear turn signals really far back?
anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work? where else can i put the turn signals where they won't be hidden, but will allow the use of saddlebags?

I had same problem and was looking for a bag for a long time. My bonnie also got rear fender eliminated, and signals are relocated to shock mounts so even city bag wouldn't work.
And I pretty much concluded that those fender-less bonnies including mine just won't look right with any saddle bags.
It's not an answer to your question, but I ended up going for a waist bag (buttpack?). I got Proteus from Maxpedition and I'm quite happy with it. Their stuff is really tough, military grade indestructible built, yet not too high-tech look.
Buttback will literally sit on the seat when you ride so you don't feel the weight like backpacks, and I find this way to be most hidden/minimalistic way to carry stuff "in style" for fender eliminated bonnies.
Just a thought.

do you have a link or pic ofo this kinda bag? sounds like it could be a possible solution for at least commuting to work.

I've always found tankbags to be the answer for roadsters, but if you're deadset against them you might check out these bags from Chase Harper:
http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/...s-p-16159.html
They have a semi-rigid construction that is mostly waterproof and doesn't flop around on your bike and hold a good deal of kit. You can even hang them under the seat and put those little mini-locks on the zipper pulls to insure a little security. I sold my old pair with my Beemer and have regretted it ever since. My luggage solution is shown below in the form of a Roadgear tankbag:

I'm not sure how much stuff you need to carry, and I know that you aren't too keen on tank bags, but check this one out: http://www.newbonneville.com/html/classic_tank_bag.html . It is the best quality tank bag I have used in 35 years and fits Bonneville tank like a glove. Another option that is surprisingly comfortable and holds plenty is the messenger bags from Aerostitch. http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/...g-p-16141.html I had avoided using one of these bags for years and I wish I bought one long ago. I can't even feel it when I use it, never shifts, I honestly don't know it's there when I ride and it holds plenty. My .02
