Waiting for my Togas
After spending months agonizing over which after market silencers to get I finally settled on NH Togas. After spending hours listening to dozens of Youtube vids the NH Classics were the only ones that spoke to me. In early April I ordered a set directly from Mr. Hyde (no local suppliers) only to find out that demand has far outstripped supply and they were backordered for weeks. NH has been very good about responding to my emails, but I still haven't got a firm shipping date. I hate to be impatient and bug him some more, but once I made the decision to upgrade the exhaust on my T100, I just can't wait to do it. I think my Bonnie is just about perfect and I know it will be beyond my expectations once the bike finds its voice. Not complaining here, just ruminating about my impatience and wondering if others share my pain once they decide to order something and find out it will be weeks or months before the courier arrives at their door.

Easy - I think that is a perfectly natural reaction. I try to be patient with things I've decided on but I often feel the way you do. I guess I know which pipes not to order until the fall!

I realize you have ordered them already from NH but you might consider checking with Brent at New Bonneville.com to see if he has some in stock by chance and potentially cancel your NH order. Just a suggestion that might appease your impatience. Believe you me....I understand completely!
good luck!

Easy,
That is the exact reason why I don't have NH Togas on my bike. I checked with Bella Corse and the others and they where all sold out. Shipping date was "someday".
Bella Corse has the Wassells in stock and I bought them. Couldn't be happier. They where loud when I first put on but real nice now. I also have some baffles I can slide in.
Did you check Bella Corse, New Bonneville and British Customs? They stock them and will ship them for you if they have a set. I would give them a call. They are all very reputable and easy to deal with. If they have a set then you will have them at your door in 2 weeks instead of someday.

Easy there easy!
I understand completely!
Once you've made up your mind and pulled the trigger you can't wait!
I agree with suggestions about phoning North American suppliers.
However another alternative would be to open up your stock pipes: do a bafflectomy - on a pre-2007, or a tip removal on post 2007. Gives you something to do, and it gets you half way there.

Been there ... Ordered Togas the day I bought my bike in February. I thought they would be on the bike in a week ... Then I found myself in the same situation you are in ... It took forever, as I remember ... around 6 - 8 weeks by the time they finally arrived ... I was also tempted to switch to something else but I kept hearing THAT SOUND in my mind that only Togas can make ... The time passed, the togas arrived and I fired her up for the first time and they sounded better than I had imagined they would ... I don't even remember the wait any more, and just periodically fire her up when I am not going to ride ... just to bring a smile to my face ... Patience. It will be more than worth it ...

Like Paul, I waited 8 weeks from ordering the NH Togas to arrival and installation on my 2009 T-100. Given the ongoing discussion on this site about whether to use the TORS tune or not, and whether to remove the AI and use something called a power commander (which seems to be the consensus optimum, but I don't think I could tell a power commander from a power ranger), I used those 8 weeks to try to get as good a feel for the bike at baseline stock so I could tell / appreciate any difference. My dealer folks are also of the ride-it-like-you-stole-it-after-100-miles school of break-in philosophy, so I was also riding it like a maniac. (And from which I learned that the limiting factor on this bike is quite clearly me.)
I got the TORS tune (#20188), I'm keeping the AI on for now (until I get way more competent and figure out how that whole procedure.) There is some gain in power, I think. (Norman Hyde says 7hp with the stock tune and the TORs tune is supposed to be better than stock for power?) But it was plenty powerful before, and the limiting factor remains me.
Also I have not been able to feel any "snatchiness" off of idle, as one or two have reported (which snatchiness might be related to airbox removal?) I do get a small bit of gurgling sometimes on decel (not popping but gurgling) but I kinda like that. Real happy with the way it runs. Still amazed how this engine spins up, and how 4500 rpm is just getting started.
But the real joy - my very best moment to date was hearing it fired up with the Togas on for the first time from across the lot as the guy was walking it out. This, to me, is what a Triumph is supposed to sound like.
These are the pipes that were on my 1970 TR6R 650 back in the day, so I had to have them.
Hang in there, and think of it this way: your days of being able to sneak up on anyone are numbered.
Cheers!

Thanks guys... believe it or not you've made me feel a lot better and put a smile on my face while reading your responses. Yes, I have checked out some of the other suppliers, but with the soft Canadian dollar vs the US $ I am quite a bit better off ordering direct from NH. I will be patient... and I so look forward to firing her up for the first time with the Togas.
I'll give an update when the goodies arrive. In the meantime I will continue to sneak up on people, get nods of appreciation from my neighbours and hang out on Youtube listening to the NH vids.

I had a long wait for my togas to arrive as well and an even more annoying wait after they had arrived while I was too stupid to fit them/too stubborn to ask for help. One quick email to NH and I had them on in no time.
Now I cant even remember what it felt like waiting, firing up my baby and hearing her roar unfettered from the stock pipes washed away all of the frustration. I still get a silly grin every time I wind it up and head out into the Peaks, the perfect soundtrack to the perfect riding experience

I guess I'm just lucky. My local Dealer(Hermy's) had NH's in stock. I did get the peashooters though. You might try Hermys.com and see if they have some.
