First Oops!!!!
Sitting on my bike in the driveway yesterday getting ready to go on the first ride of the season, I decided to zip the inner lining out of my jacket. As I let the bike back down on the kick stand, low and behold NO KICK STAND!!! Me and the mighty Trux hit the asphalt. Snapped the clutch handle in half, bent the shifter and scuffed the muffler. Do I let this faze me? NO WAY!!!! After a quick stop at the dealer to laugh it off and order a new leaver, I was humping it around my favourite twisties and grinning from ear to ear.
God I love summer!!!!

I like your attitude. That first scrape or scratch is going to happen some time. I consider them badges of courage... but the no kickstand thing...we all have those moments, but i have to admit - that is sort of funny. Glad you weren't hurt.

My fist "oops" came two days after I picked up the bike. I lost the front end in a corner due to new tires not being scuffed in yet and a slightly slick, old asphalt road surface. Hit hard on my shoulder, breaking my scapula and a rib. (Which I didn't realize at the time) Picked the bike up and rode it home, which was kind of awkward because the right foot peg was broken off. It also scraped up the right side muffler, bent the rear brake pedal and scraped up the alternator cover, mirror, bar end and front brake lever. Decided to upgrade the skinned up pieces of the bike while I was healing, putting on the BC Performance Package along with the CRG's. Bike's better than new now....and sounds a heck of a lot better. :
Here are some kinda cool looking images of the broken body pieces. I wasn't able to upgrade them. Had to settle for refurbished old ones.

did a similar thing a few weeks back pulled up on my speedmaster out side the house did my usual of flicking the stand as i put my foot down, unfortunatly it sprung back up and i leaned to put it down, ended up with the damn thing on top of me, just managed to get it back up with out doing any damage, luckly the footboards took most of it

I fell off in humiliating manner some years ago just tugging the front brake too hard as I came to a stop. When I asked for help to get the bike off me, no-one bothered, just went about their daily business completely ignoring the man lying underneath his bike.
My nemesis is usually the disk lock. They definitely work!

That is appalling - ie the fact nobody bothered to help. I heard a few years ago a top Harley guy talking at a brand seminar saying that the biggest cause of injuries to Harley riders was broken legs due to the bike falling on them whilst stationary. This happened to a pal of mine when his Buell broke his leg, he had to be airlifted to hospital, and now he is grappling with a cancerous tumour in his knee, which has eaten away most of his femur - possibly as a result of the accident but not necessarily. The point is - stationary bikes can be lethal and a compatible seat height is very important.

bikers anonymous
a what a relief, im not the only one ,i think bikers must be really humble people why does there always have to be at least 10 people watching as you try taking off with disc lock in place or bike stalls just as your taking off with wife on back ,next thing your literally stuck under bike unable to move toes jammed in footpeg facing towards your face ,ouch was beggining to think there must be something wrong with me i keep going back for more ,they are kind or addictive.it does seem pretty funny when i think back on it,a great way to stop taking myself so seriously,i feel so much better now i got all that off my chest.maybe there is a need for a support group ,bikers anonymous.anon
