switching from ACE to M bars?

ugh...i love the look of my ACE bars, but i just don't think my arms are long enough for them, or perhaps i'm just too short for their stance on a bonnie? anywho, i've decided i'm going to try and switch to M bars. they seem like they still have an aggressive look, but will bring the bars closer to me and raise them a bit which should work well. anywho, theres a post for my ACE bars in the classifieds. 55 bucks shipped or best offer if anyone is interested, PM me for details. the bars have only been used for about 300 miles, and are originally from new bonneville.

I did the same switch. With the ACE bars, I weighted the front end too much and handling was compromised.

With the ACE bars, my crotch was right on the tank when I was riding. The M Bars let me scootch back considerably. They are the best halfway point between aggressive positioning and comfort.

YMMV but I found the m bars looked cool as hell but I couldnt get past the vibration. They VIBRATE!

I guess this is a matter of opinion - and degree. I find the M bar to have but only a slight increase in vibration compared to the stock bar, but compared to old Triumphs, they are smooth as silk. The difference for me certainly is not enough to warrant not using them.

M Bar-ific!

I love my M bars. Installed rise side up with a slight roll so it's in a perfect position for my wrists. Yes, they vibe more than stockers, but it's nothing that would keep me from doing it over again.

The forward, yet not extreme, riding position is a blast in the twisties.

The m-bars look cool, I have had them on 2 Bonnies, but even when filled with sand, lead weights banged down them and bar end weights they still vibrated too much for me. The LSL sport bars are better, vibration wise and comfort wise.

I have the M bars as well and agree they look waaaay cool, especially mounted upside down. I don't really notice any vibration to speak of.

My one gripe is what Trel found with the Ace bars - jewel jammage.

I'm still experimenting with different angles in the hope I can keep 'em upside down and the boys happy. Otherwise I might need to flip the bars right side up - at some loss of cool factor which was kind of the point in the first place.

What a dilemma.....
