I don't own any, but... I've read a lot of good things about Wolfman Luggage on the ADV site. He's got a whole line of tank bags that aren't magnetic and lots of tail bags too. This is what I plan to try later this year.

So far I've been using a Mountainsmith bag as a tail bag for commuting and it's been great. It's small, so when I'm ready to do some traveling I'll upgrade to some Wolfman bags.

He has good taste in bikes for modeling the bags too.

I used a icon magnetic tank bag the first year I had my 06 scram & yes it scratched my tank. The magnet wore through the fabric & I
didn't notice boy I was pissed. Any who I purchased a Hepco & Becker rear rack that I really like. The design is kinda cool because it has two side rails that my wife can hang onto for two up riding. I think it fits the bike well & looks great for a rack but, it's a little pricey. I think it was $200 bucks. I have a medium size expandable bag I got from cycle gear. Fabric bags are great because you can strap them on so many ways. My next purchase will be that peak tail bag by wolfman luggage. Their stuff is top of the line-off road proven. Please anybody who reads think twice before you use a magnetic tank bag.

I use theTouratech tank bag - not cheap, but very good, and doesn´t look too bad either

Just ordered the following tail bag, one of the few possibilities due to the high pipe.

Looks like it´s good qualitiy, I´ll find out. I´m planning quite a bit of overlanding this year, I´ll post my experience.
cheers

I've got the renntec and it's proved itself many times over the last two years.it's starting to look a little faded and rough so I'll probably get another next year sorry i don't have a picture of the bag

Hey duckman, is your bag the early one with a single Velcro strap in the centre? If so, be warned that the new renntec bag has TWO straps that are exactly where the braces under our rack are. The result is you have to have to 'dress' to the right or left and can't have the bag central. I ordered one soon after I got my rack and was disappointed. renntec new all about the problem and refunded the money without question.

HTH

As a matter of interest I am still looking for a bag. I want one that is more or less the same size as the rack, ie 14x8, holds its shape when empty and is held on by straps not bungess. Not a big ask but I still haven't identified one.
