Bonnie Vs. V7 Classic

Finally both bikes were taken to the same dyno check.
The figures speak for themselves:

The V7 must be the first "Modern Classic" with far much less power than the original of more than 30 years ago.

Unlike the original one to reach the "Ton" the V7 only if it steps 800 RPM over the red line! Theoretically!!!

Over 57 rwhp for a bone stock bike is a pretty strong showing for a bonny. Has the rpm limit been raised in recent times? It used to be 7,200.

The guzzi folks must be sorely disappointed with the performance of that machine...too bad, since she is a real looker otherwise.

Cheers,

Is that a stock Bonnie? I've never heard of 134 MPH on a stock Bonnie before. I try to maintain an open mind though as there are lots of things I've never heard of before..... or am I reading the chart wrong? 216 KPH??? Really???

I believe that 7,200RPM is the beginning of the redline. The cut-out is at 7,600RPM. I think! (not sure!)

These are dyno test figures (no wind/no air drag/no weight). Purely RPM vs speed

No wind

Don't forget that dynos don't incorporate wind resistance or grade.

Just curious since the dyno clearly shows torque cutting out at 8K rpms/shift points on the speed graph at 8K. I guess I was wondering what year/model bonny they tested since its performance is better than any bone stock bike I've seen dynoed...

It was a standard 2008 EFI. The very same Bonnie but with Arrow exhausts: 65rwHP

I'm not very surprise because with minor mods I have somehow better figures with my 2006 T100:
Modifications:
- Air Injection removed.
- Air Box removed.
- K&N Air Filters installed.
- Carburettor Dynojet kit RF-5105 installed - Jetting: MJ 116.
- Norman Hyde Silencers HBS105

Performance:
- Max. Power: 64.3 Rear Wheel HP at 7,618 RPM
- Max. Torque: 74.0 Rear Wheel Nm at 5,625 RPM

Here is the Dyno:

Underpowered though it may be, I really like the V7. I hope a few aftermarket tweaks can boost the HP numbers.
