Norman Hyde M Bars w or w/o plugs?

I'm looking to get the Norman Hyde Mbars..I'm not sure from which vendor yet (recommendations welcome), but I keep hearing about vibration with these bars compared to stock.

Will buying the bars w/plugs help at all with the vibration?

As for mirrors, I may just modify stock ones to fit on as bar ends..or do the Oberon, or just keep stock.

The plugs should make some difference but not as much as weights of course.

I ride with the ace bars and a friend of mine has the m's. He hasn't complained of vibration but both of us have noticed a change in handling. It's much harder to turn quickly. You get use to it though but be careful until you do. I thought I was just imagining it until I rode my friends with stock bars on and it turned on a dime. They sure do look cool though.

I'd buy from Bellacorse or New Bonneville but would find out if they have what you want in stock first. I waited 5 months for my ace bars without plugs but that was actually Norman Hyde's fault.

I have Hydes top yoke and Mbars fitted in the dropped position. I have the unplugged ones. I actualy shortened them y 1cm each end as I found them a bit wide and added bar end mirrors.

Personaly I have no probs with vibration. Oh and the bike feels more responsive than it did with the clip ons fitted.

I honestly believe the vibration thing is blown out of proportion - can't help but think those strongly affected by it have not much experience with real vibratey motorcycles. I read that when the new Triumphs were being designed, the designers left a bit of vibration in the scheme to make it feel like a "motorcycle".
It is only a small difference in this regard from a stock bar but better looking, as many would agree.

I've had my M's for a few months now and love them. I got them with plugs because I have not intention of installing bar end mirrors. I split lanes too often, and I'd rather keep my line of sight up at the road when looking in the mirrors rather than glancing down.

The bars do vibrate more than stock bars. I see it more in the mirrors rather than feel it in my hands. By no means is it horrible; it's just a bit buzzy where it wasn't before.

As for vendors, I've had three 5 star experiences with newbonneville and will continue to purchase from them. I've gotten quick responses via email and all deliveries have come within five to seven days (weekends and Thanksgiving holiday included).

I love my M's. Very comfortable, slightly forward riding position. Great leverage for turning and counter steering.

I'm going to see how well I do with them for a 300 mile weekend trip.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I also think the vibration issue might be overstated, as alot of things on forums (generally speaking), but it does greatly impact ride comfort especially on long trips, which I intend on taking this year.

I'd love to hear some feedback from people who have taken a long trip with these. I'd hate to be in pain or have aches during what is supposed to be a relaxing vacation. But it sounds like it doesn't make a diff whether you buy the plugged ones or not.

I'm also shying away from bar-ends now (my wife has the napolean's on her bonnie), and I'm looking at these. Does anybody know if they fit in the stock hole? I'm looking for something that isn't so tall (bunny ears).

I rode from NJ to Maine and back with an M bar - over 1,000 miles - no problem whatsoever. I had it on months prior to the trip, so I felt quite at home with it. What I have learned - from this site in fact - is the tendency to lean your weight fully on your hands/wrists may cause problems, like wrist pain. The suggestion to use stomach muscles to take some of the lean is a good one. Took a bit of conscious effort at first, but now it is second nature.

I did the same to my thruxton...except I found the M bars fouled on my preload adjusters and couldn't run them despite both being supplied by Norm. I put S3 bars on instead.

Perchance you could tell me how tall the risers are on your NH yoke? I have a feeling I got too short of risers with my kit & that's why the bars foul...

Had M on the Bonnie with Jenks bar end weights.
Dramatically reduced wind blast and vibration.
Matched them with Hyde rearsets.
In fact the handling was so much improved I bought a Thruxton.
M bars are a universe away from the stock bars, which just complicate the wallowing and poor response of the stock bars.
M bars help bring weight forward and naturally raise the neck/head in the line of the ride. You dont lean on them, you lightly rest your hands on them.
The bonnie should come with M bars as standard.
