TrophyRider,

Tell your wife this is a SAFETY item, not a performance item. You heard on here that Trophys are DANGEROUS with out these brakes! If that hook sets then push for a set of Goodridge braided stainless brake lines too.

I am going to try out the Tokico 6-pots as well.

The master cylinder on my '00 trophy is exactly 5/8", or 15.8mm so no worries here.

One thing I am assuming is that the stock trophy brake lines and banjo bolts will fit the Tokico calipers since the pair I bought off e-bay don't have the stock 'busa lines.

I'm not upgrading to stainless braided lines and i'm keeping standard organic pads (rather than sintered) on the theory of not changing multiple things at once. I'm afraid braided steel will give an abrupt feel which I wouldn't necessarily like (due to eliminating hydraulic line expansion). Same with sintered pads.

Will

Are you guys saying the Hayabusa and Bandit 1200 6 pots will bolt directly onto the Trophy?

I would love that! My brakes are a little mushy, and I bled them thoroughly. I've got the steel lines, and they only help a little.

I'll have to look around for a set.

The switch is in! 1 hour test ride with lots of braking and the new pads are broken in pretty well. No leaks or other strangeness so far. The only kink I had was the Tokico bleed valves seemed to require more torque than the 5nm for the stock ones. They leaked at 5nm so I torqued them to 10-12nm. Don't know if this is really correct.

Performance wise there is a noticeable improvement in hard breaking down to a full stop. (showing up my spongy stock forks)

Naturally i'll be watching these carefully during my ride out of state this weekend and carrying the old calipers plus all necessary tools/supplies just in case.

I just Installed the Tokiko 6 piston calipers on my 02 trophy 1200 this weekend. Got them On e-bay for $50.00
They were an extremely easy upgrade and cost less than a new set of pads. Will need to upgrade the fork springs now though, Getting a lot of front end dive now with the add braking power.

New breaks perfect after 2100 mile ride through the Ozarks. Regardless, I will be dismounting them for inspection and rebuild by Suzuki mechanic. You can't be too careful when it comes to breaks. Especially mystery junk off E-bay.
