Trophy Limited Edition Model?

Have seen a "Limited Edition" 2001 1200 model for sale.
Owner says that it was limited quantity and limited color.
I'm not able to find any info on it in RAT Forum Search nor in regular online search engines. Can't even find a specific listing for it in resale value (Blue/Nada).
Anyone have any info on what (if anything) makes this bike so special and how that reflects in resale value? (Owner asking 9k).

Limited Edition

I am new to the Trophy stuff but I have never read anything about this Limited Edition. And for 9k, if it exists it had better be something. I purchased my 02 with 1250miles on it for $4,500. Special color with special decals? I don't know but you can get one hell of a Trophy for a lot less. Hopefully others will chime in on this and educate me if there is one but I really want to know what makes it so special if it is real. If it is just the paint etc.. I wouldn't pay that much. Looking forward to others input on this. I want to know too!!!

Update Info

Again, please, any of you who are more familiar with the Trophy models share what you know.

Evidently a Triumph dealer stated to owner that only 5oo were made in this color and that classifieds for this particular model currently go for 9,500 to 10,900.

So at the moment, yes, it seems that the asking price of 9,000 is specifically for an unusual color.

Anyone have their two cents to put in on a "rare" Trophy?

I'd appreciate it!

Sounds like someone is using a little creative advertising, and taking advantage of the relative rarity of the modern Trophys.

Sounds pretty fishy to me. So what color is it? Only 500 made? That would have been a huge chunk of the whole production run of Trophys that year.

The color seems to be silver, have never been told if it has a specific "named" color that makes it so uncommon.
I don't know what makes realistic resale value either!
Seven years from now is the 50th anniversary bonne going to significantally hold it's retail value at resale?
Gotta car, it's limited edition, and they're no longer making it's body type. However, I don't expect in seven years that it's going to resell for a couple thousand less than what I paid for it.
I'm well aware that a Trophy for sale is a rare sighting around here.
Just trying to sort out what's realistic asking price and what's "creative".
STILL can't find any documentation on a 2001 LE!

Triumph did supply some Trophy's for the Atlanta Olympic games. I don't recall what was done to differentiate them from standard Trophy's.

I'd say the bike is 4500 to 5500 overpriced, even with ONLY 8000 miles

Just my 2cents.....

Yessir THAT'S the one!

You're two cents makes sense.

Just didn't know if there was something out there that I wasn't aware of that made it so special and expensive.

special?

I have a Emerald Green Trophy. This was the color of the bikes made for the Atlanta Olympics. I bought the bike last year with 3200 miles on it. The bike was spotless and the dealership had serviced the bike. The guy that owned the bike bought a new ST. The only thing special is the bikes color. 4500-5500 for the bike would be abought right. The factory top box would be a real bonus. Joe

Cool netmaker

Only model I know of around that time frame was the 2002 Daytona 955i Centenial Limited Edition released to coincide with the Triumph 100 year celebration. I have a 2001 Platinum model and heard nothing about a Limited Edition being available when the purchase was being discussed. There was also a Bonnie T100 released in 2002 with a Special Edition badge / label.
