I assume your going to put this in your bike .

There are many models to chose from, the only thing I would recommend is stay with a lead acid battery.

I work with DC power plants and deal with battery's as small a 6 Volt sealed cells to lead acid battery's that weight 600 Lbs. (272 Kg).

I know gel cells/sealed battery's are very popular, how ever I do know that you will get a longer life from a good quality lead acid battery.

I always used a Yuasa on my Trident.Costs a bit more than a cheap unbranded type but lasts longer and holds the charge longer.I'd also recommend a trickle charger if you're not using the bike regularly.

I've been using an EverStart Max AGM, ES14BS, from WalyWorld. Appx $70 I think. Exact fit. I prefer the AGM(Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries over the standard flooded batteries because they are more resistant to vibration damage, don't leak, don't boil over, maintenance free. I also use a Vector battery tender, 1 amp float/maintainer.
Off course, batteries are like oil, everybody's got their favorite, and there's is the best. What ever "Brand" you go with, I would still recomend the AGM. You could go with the Gel type, but they are expensive, and I don't think they really last any longer.
My 3 cents worth(inflation).

It's a shame that Optima doesn't make motorcycle batteries, but I had to go with a Yuasa. They seem to be the biggest name in the market, however any well-maintained battery will last a long time. My last battery in the bike was a low-end Champion that lived quite a long life.

dogg,
I guess they can't get the spiral technology in that small of a package. Other than Yuasa, all the rest of the batteries (here in the US, won't swear to the rest of the world)are basically made by either Johnson Controls or Exide(Delphi sold their battery division to JCI). That's why I buy the EverStart AGM. Could be an Exide or JCI(they both make them for WalyWorld). Don't ya just love Corporate Conglomeration?
