carburettor rebuild kit
My 96 Trophy 900 has been gradually getting worse mpg. With 66,000 miles on the clock I could probably use a carb. rebuild. Does anyone know of a good rebuild kit . My carbs are 36mm Mikunis.

Although for a 1200 4cyl my local dealer told me they couldn't find a specific kit for the Mikuni BST 36mm. One would have to order individual pieces as required. I find it hard to believe... Good luck in your search. I'm working up my FCRs to put on instead.

I'm assuming you have the Mikuni carbs. With that many miles, I would sugest replacing the needles and needle jets(they wear uneaven causing the engine to run rich). Factory Pro has a kit for these (www.factorypro.com). Appx $130 for kit. As long as you have the carbs apart, make sure you give them a good cleaning/inspection. If all diaphrams and o-rings are good, re-use them. Clean all 3 filters.

Along with everything else mentioned, replace your float needle and seat valves. I don't know this first hand (I have Keihins) but it appears that the Mukuni seats crack and leak.

You might be able to find some of the parts that you need at www.Sudco.com
