I agree with Threepot. I put 100,000 miles on a Sprint 900. I like the Trophy 12 but the Sprint had a greater sound (snarl/growl), plenty of power and better gas mileage.
My passenger definitely preferred the Trophy with back rest. Hard bags are a big plus and the platinum color is very nice.
The fan switch is a sure sign somebody didn't know what they were doing. For
$2000 to 2300, I might take the chance, but I would look more. Better ones are out there.
Yo!! You're killin' us with suspense. Did the guy take the (generous) $2k offer for an out-in-the-elements too much Trophy? Or are you finding a more worthy mount??
Man, from the way you have outlined the bike it is way too much money. I picked up a 2001 from a dealer in awesome condition about 18,000 miles it needed a battery and two tires eventually, net cost for bike, tires and battery $4,200
