I wanted to add some lead to my handlebars, but I found what I thought was a plug in the end to be the end piece of the bars. Since I cannot add weight inside the bars can I purchase heavier bar weights? Any other options?
BTW-99 trophy 1200 with gen-mars. I am getting a buzz at 80+mph.

I know the buzz feeling but mine was created when I lowered my 2001 model final drive gearing from 2.22 to 1 to the 1996 model gearing of 2.52 to 1, so I could use a lower gearing for most of my riding in the Appalachians and at highway speed the buzz was noticable so this is what I did. I have 2 layers of Genmar risers, as recommended by Genmar, to to allow me to sit up in style. I copied the old Harley trick of rubber bar mounts and I placed a thin rubber gasket under the risers and away went 75% of my buzz. Handlebars are quite firm and secure with a Grade 8 high tensile bolt passing from the top of the risers into and threaded into and through the triple tree and under the triple tree I have installed a anti-vibration nyloc retaining nut as an added security fastener. Had this on the bike for over a year and over 10000 miles with no dramas and good control. :-D

I replaced the bar end weights with the Throttlemeister "cruise control" setup using the heavier weights that they offer. It cut the "buzz" down quite a bit on mine and, of course, it allows me to lock the throttle when I need to take my hand off of it or when I'm on the highway.

Update- I went to the local hardware store and purchased some thick fender washers and some rubber tubing. Using the existing bar end weight bolt, I added the tubing over the threads that were covered by the washers and reattached to bars. on the throttle side I used small washers to keep the fender washers off of the grip (it was locked up without them). The extra weight reduced most of the high freq buzz that I was experiencing.
Our handlebars are made of solid bar stock so adding lead internally or using a "bar snake" is not possible.
