Just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Just obtained my second Trophy 900, sold the first one 18 months ago and regretted it ever since. Managed to find a 32k miles 1997 BRG one with just about every Triumph extra except heated grips. It was incredibly cheap as the engine sounds terrible. I am pretty confident its the alternator shaft bolt that making it so noisy, its coming apart this weekend and being done before i set to on the slight scratches to the fairing.

I live about three miles from the Triumph factory at Hinckley and in fact i watched the fire from my back garden, not realising what was burning, thats a while ago now!!! Visited there a couple of times through work, fantastic place and worth visiting if ever you get the chance.

Anyway, thats the introduction over, sure ill be getting some photos up of the bike soon,

Cheers all

Mick.

Hi Mick,

Welcome aboard. Another recent 'new boy' myself, only had my 1200 (1995) a couple of months. My first Triumph.

I'm an ex-Leicester boy, now living in south Oxfordshire, so know your area quite well from my earlier biking days.

Good luck with your new machine. Hope you sort it's noises out OK.

Martin.

Doing anything that needs doing myself, got a well equipped garage/workshop and ive been a mechanic most of my life working on cars and bikes, cars for profit and bikes for fun!!!

I hope to be able to bring something to the site, pretty well up on modern stiff but a bit shy of "classic" bikes. Most of my experience is on Jap stuff but i'm getting to know brit stuff a bit better now.

Stripped the alternator out tonight, the bolt is ok but the shock absorber rubbers have almost disappeared, loads of bits!! Explains the noise i suppose. Are these available?

Cheers all and thanks for the welcome,

Mick

Welcome aboard!
I am also new to this site and it has been very helpful on the few issues I have had.

Hello. I am fairly new to this site also and the same can be said for Triumphs as well. I got my 2000 Trohpy 900 about 3 months ago and have been loving it.
I thought that it was ironic seeing that you were from Nuneaton as that is where I spent the first 20 years of my life. Currently living in Orlando now and have to say that the weather is certainly more favourable for riding.
Keep us posted on the progress with your Trophy.

Jason.
