Hi all,
I have not been able to get the 2001 1200 to start after a good washing. I thought perhaps the coils had goen south so I put on some new ones and she still will not start. Went to the dealer and he said to replace the pick up sensor. That looked easy. However, I can't get the 2 screws loose that hold it to the housing. It is a star type screw head and I think the factory must have used a impact wrench to put them in. Any one use an impact wrench to remove or have suggestions. I hate to take the bike to the dealer to have him remove them pluse it is a long way to push my bike to his place.

Steve,
If it was running fine before you washed it, it's most likely NOT the crank sensor. Check the engine kill switch on the handlebar, you may have gotten water in it shorting it out. Also, check the clutch switch and the side stand switch for the same thing.
