I understand that having a 1991 Triumph is owning a neo-classic. No one really knows, other than the principal owner, how many were produced in 1991. I would think that they are rather rare. If this is the truth then the one you have should have some historical significance in the near future. Besides it looks to be in great condition. You may have purchased something that has more intrinsic value than you would imagine on first inspection. Congrats.

That is something I was totally unaware of when I bought it, and yes it is in very good condition for the year, 3 owners, 33000 miles and what seems to be original condition. There are a few marks and cracks on the fairing but with it being original I am unsure weather I will have it repaired and painted. I wasnt actually looking for a bike like this I was after another classic british bike but just could not pass this one up.

Cheers

Ash

More pics of it on my webpage under garage if anyone is interested.

Just rang the Triumph factory today to get some information on my bike. It was built in the 16th of July 1991 and is confirmed as a very early Trophy and the helpful guy on the telephone even went back on VIN numbers to find out what number they started production on so I got to know the exact number of my bike and where it was sold from. Very helpful indeed.

Thumbs up 91 Trophy

Hello Ash,
What a beautiful bike! It looks to be in good condition. If it has been regularly maintained you should have no troubles. A friend has a '96 900 with close to 40k in the odometer and that bike is as dependable as a brick. We ride all year, as long as the roads are safe, and that bike is always ready to go.
Good luck, ride safe, -Jeff

Thumbs up Another Newbie

Hi all, just got back into the saddle after selling my 02 America. Now have 99 Trophy 1200. Just something about a Triumph that turns my crank. So far it's a great deal of fun to ride. Look forward to chatting with you all and learning from your experiences. Ride safe.
