Exclamation

I put D&D's on mine. Yes, as others have said, it is LOUD! I am considering going back to stock. The only thing keeping me from it is this. When I started riding again after a 30 layoff traffic is much better than it was 30 years ago. Much more recognition on the city streets. However on the highway i still was having 1 or 2 incidents a week where people would begin to encroach into my lane. After about 1 month, maybe 6-700 miles, I have had 0 incidents of this nature. So I am hesitant to change back. I would rather be a live noise making rider than dead silent.

Also bought a 140db Airhorn that I haven't had a chance to mount.

My wife's Trophy 1200 has D&D's an they are pretty loud. I've actually asked her if she wanted to swap back to stock, but she likes the sound and she, like Goody, has noticed that other drivers notice when she's around, so she doesn't want to go back to stock. I've had to get used to hearing her come rumbling up behind my Rocket III.. which isn't that quiet either.. lol

I have a set of 'Staintunes' fitted to my 1200, they have removable baffles so you can have it quiet (but not as quiet as the standard cans) or you can take out the baffles and it sounds beautiful! The finish and build quality of the 'Staintunes' is second to none, but they are expensive to buy;o)

Take a look at www.trident-exhausts.com - we have Trophy pipes with removable baffles so they can be loud or not so loud ...

cheers for all the replies, i now know they are out there...

i've done searches and checked the links but i can't find any still for a 2002 1200 trophy? I've found them for earlier 900's but not for the latest design 1200?

Am i being blind?

We don't list them separately for the 1200 as the look and price are the same as the 900 but we do have specific 1200 cans - if you let me have your email address I can send you some pictures

I had D&D's, it took one 3K mile road trip and those things were gone. Way too loud even with ear plugs, that droning sound all day got old. But setting off car alarms in Morro Bay was fun.
