Hi All,
I'm a new (well, 43 years old!) Trophy 1200 owner in the UK. Nice site you have here - my 1st post, so please be gentle with me  .

I'm 5'7" and when I picked up this bike it was already set for a shorty like me - feet sit quite nicely on the ground, both sides .

However, this means that when (more like 'if' ) I get it on the centre stand, the rear wheel remains firmly planted on the ground. Makes chain-lubing a tedious job! It also means it's hard work getting it off the stand again.

Any other shorties had these problems before me, & sussed any solutions? Please don't suggest platform soles .

Cheers,
Martin.

Martin,

Welcome aboard like your's my 900 trophy's wheel is still decked when on the stand.

A bit radical, but I have a slope going up into my garage, so all I need do is roll the bike back with the rear wheel down the slope and the centre stand on the level, pop it up and bingo , wheel clear off the ground.

Not so handy when out and it needs lubed, so I intend fitting a Scotoiler. Got one on my tiger and wouldn't be without it now.

Ok shorty here is how I oil the chain on my lowered bike. I have a section of timber that is 300mm long by 200mm wide by 50mm high. I cust a slant at one end and use as a ramp. Run the bike up onto the ramp and drop the center stand. Make sure you have the bike fully onto the ramp and that the center stand swings down and just lifts the bike tyre clear of the end of the ramp. You may have to make your ramp height to suit the measurement the bike has been lowered. Now oil the chain

Well, thanks for the welcome guys. I like your idea, Netmaker - I'll have a go with that. Tango - well, my garage had to go - converted to a bedroom - so can you imagine now that I'm jealously thinking of your comparative luxury  .

Shorties of the World unite!
