Going tomorrow (1/26) to look at a Trophy 3. Guess I'll probably buy it if it's about as described, as will be pulling the trailer, and I know me, and what that means.
Pretty excited. Currently ride new Bonnie as a cafe bike, and a BMW K75. Just sold an 1100GS as the goofy looking thing demanded to be ridden at 100mph all the time, even in the twisties. Pretty excited about the Trophy, as I've never had a fully faired bike, and do about 40k per year.
Any advice from all the wisdom out there?

13,000 miles on my Trophy 900 and still loving it although that ugly and obnoxious Rocket III is calling my name quite a bit lately. You'll hear a bunch of 1200 owners tell you that it's too small but I think the torque of the triple is actually better. You just need to know where the power band is and not try and pull out and pass at 2k RPM.

Did you get the 900?. I have a 02 1200 and love it.
I thought it might be me and my hate affair with wind, but apperently other Trophy riders have noticed the same thing.

They do catch a lot of wind. I put the 4'' taller clearshield on which, I'm sure makes things even worse. I had a 85 K100 RS which sliced thru wind. The position was killing me if I did more than 200k in a day, so I bought the Trophy.

I'm going to try keeping the tank full on windy days, as suggested else where on this site. It just never hit me to do that, but it makes perfect sense.
