Hello all,
I own a 99 Trophy 1200 which when I purchased did not have a centre stand fitted, I have just bought one from Triumph ( another one of their cheep accessories haha ) and find that it comes with a spring thats as much use as a chocolate frying pan !!
The centre stan bounces up and down quite merrily whilst riding, which is becomming very anoying.
Anyone else had this problem ? Triumph say that there is no alternative for the spring supplied....can anyone help ?

You're bike should have come with a centerstand on it, at any rate the one on mine holds flat against the frame.

If I were you I'd take the spring down to an auto parts or hardware or industrial supply store and try to find a stouter spring that was the same length and shape.

Much thanks for the reply,
I bought the bike second hand, so the previous owner may have removed it. I will attempt to locate a stronger spring. Seems strange that mine is so loose !

I figured that I would take a quick look at my bike. Granted it has the origonal centerstand but it should be the same as an aftermarket i'm guessing. It has 2 springs mounted in the same way on each side of the centerstand. I've never had a problem with the stand being loose. Maybe all you need is for Triumph to give you the OTHER spring too. :???:

Wouldn't it be great if it's that simple! ;-)

I think it is that simple! CruiseControll spoke of a single spring in his original post. As benman wrote, there should be two springs.
