I replaced the stock petcock/fuel tap that failed on my bike with a Pingel unit. I posted the info on it, including part numbers and the WRONG listed info in Pingel's application guide, over in the maintenance section under the parts interchangability thread. Currently it's the last entry. If you were to do this, just know that Pingel says you need a 34mm adapter plate, and this is in fact too short. You need the 44mm adapter plate, but not the offset one.

Install is easy and straight foreward. Minor filing of the hole for clearance is needed, but will not affect/effect the ability to use a stock part later. You can get vacuum operated or non-vacuum operated (just plug the vacuum line on the carb), with 1 or 2 outlets, though the information I listed was for single outlet only. It works, you don't need 2 outlets. You can also get foreward, rear, right or down facing outlets. Basically, you can solve any clearance problems the stocker created. But, you will not have the look of stock with the large black knob. You will have a hole in the side panel where it once was, and you stick your finger in there to operate the lever on the new unit.

the pingels work out great....with some tricky glue work i glued my stock petcock knob to the body panel to fill the hole.....sounds funny but i can reach underneath the panel to flip the petcock if needed.

I want to ordwer this from the Internet but can't find it. Can you please provide part numbers and a website from where you ordered it? A US supplier would be great too. Thanks.

sorry I'm late in follow up. I changed jobs recently.

Pingel

You can get them from any parts unlimited dealer, but I think it's better to order from the company. Call the toll free number and request the catalog. And remember, you need a 44mm adapter plate, not a 34mm plate that they say.
