Can anyone help? I have a 92 trophy 900 which has done 29000 miles now, when cold it is a little noisey on the cam chain side of the engine, this lessens when the engine is hot.
I have checked the cam shim clearances and all are within limits, but the cam chain tensioner spring is slightly short of the length it should be.
Any one know where I can get just the spring and not have to replace the whole tensioner?

Fixit,

Sprint manufacturing might be a good place to start, or any bike breakers. I don't know for sure but it might be a common part amongst manufacturers.

If that fails try getting one made.

Let me know how you get on.

I don't know for sure, but the Kawasaki Concours has a history of cam chain tensioner's wearing out so there's at least one aftermarket company that makes a replacement, and Kawasaki dealers should have stock on hand. If it uses the same spring then that might work for you.
