Hello bikers!
Does anyone own a 1999 Platinum Trophy 900? I bought one not too long ago and I wondering what you think about the bike. I like this one. It's my first Brit Bike. I have always had Jap bikes. Drag Racing and all that stuff. I learned to ride when I was twelve yrs. old. An Uncle taught me. That was on a 250 BSA. I'm not sure what model that was though. I am extremely happy with the Trophy too. It is also the first 6 speed bike I've owned. It sure does like the open road. It seems to like to run around four to five K RPM's. I haven't really let it open up yet. I am still getting used to it. I bought it 10/10/04. Here in CT the New England weather has forced me off the road. (for now).

Hi Steverye,

I happen to think that the Platinum Trophy is by far the best color, even though many on here will disagree with me. :-D
I have a 2000 900 that is Platinum. I agree with you, it loves to run between 4-5K all day long. While it doesn't have that endless well of power the 1200's have, it ain't bad. I have owned Japanese and Harley's both and it is by far the bike I have enjoyed the most and for 90% of my riding, I like it better than my Daytona 1200. I am glad you are happy with your purchase so far.

While my '01 isn't Platinum (it's Azure Blue, supposedly; light blue to me  ), it consistently amazes me how well this thing works. I was on a ride this afternoon with some of my local RAT Pack blasting through some nice twisty stuff and it changes direction fast enough to make your liver switch sides. Hard to believe something as big as a Trophy can rock and roll the way it does, but I love it! :-)
