Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. Get my emerald green 2002 Trophy 1200 next week, can't wait. I ride a BT1100 Bulldog just now but always wanted a Triumph. Have read loads on the forum already and it's good to know there's such a wealth of info out there. Will probably be back raving about my Trophy soon.

:-D

Hello,

Welcome to the forum. It is a good place to stop by now and again and has some knowledgeable members.

My bike is also a 2002 1200 in Emerald Green, not many in that colour were sold in the UK as most found themselves deported to to our brethren brothers across the pond !!

If you are like me you will find surprise in the way thay they will pull like a train in almost any gear, although they will also hit your wallet in running costs as anything above 40 mpg is doing well and means you are not enjoing yoursef!!

There is also much talk about the saddle height and lowering the ride height, but I find it just right and am only of average height. However you will notice the weight after your BT1100, especially when tipping into fast corners or in slow speed town traffic.

Anyways as previous welcome, and I look forward to reading what your first impressions are.

GG. :upthumb:

Greetings and Salutations from another Emerald Green '02 owner. Green Goblin said it all, really; you shoul love the bike as it's fabulous on the highway or the winding road. Strong engine, lots of torque and great handling...it's just top-heavy so keep your feet firmly planted when you stop.

Good luck with it and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy: Jim

Guys,

Thanks for your welcome it's much appreciated. One topic on the forum caught my attention and I don't want to start going over old ground but I have one question.

The issue of taller screens might affect me as I'm 6'2". All I am asking is this, "are clearview screens readily available in the UK?". This is for future reference obviously. Thanks again. :chug:

Try here http://www.bikerschoice.co.uk/ they are based in Scotland, they also do the ride height adjusters for T3's. Clearview are not cheap, but folk that have them say they are good quality. For summer I prefer a low screen, it takes all the buffeting away, I am 6'1"
Oh, and welcome!
