Hi there! New to the forum....

I just acquired a pristine 1995 Triumph Trophy III 900 with only 13,000 miles. It was someone's garage queen!

Anyway, upon inspection I noticed the left fork leg is leaking fork oil. I am not sure how much may have leaked out but I suspect most of it is gone due to the way the bike handles.

SO, my big questions for the experts out there is...

1.) What weight fork oil does the Triumph use?
2.) How many CCs of fork oil do the forks require?

I intend on taking the forks off tomorrow so I can clean & inspect the fork seals (replace if necessary). :hammer: I need this information to get everything repaired correctly.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Cheers!

This is from the Haynes Manual
900 Trophy to VIN# 4901 84mm and 10wt
900 Trophy fom VIN# 4902 to 9082 117mm (102mm max)10 wt
From VIN# 9083 to 29155 117mm (102mm max) and 15 wt
VIN# 29156 to 42274 105mm 10 wt
VIN# 42275 133mm and 10-20wt
you need to measure from the fully extended fork tube down to the surface of the oil one of the above lengths based on what VIN# you have. thats how Triumph(and everyone else I believe) do things.
Not by a specified cc's of oil.

You might also dicover that you may want to go up a couple of steps on the oil weight for a better, firmer front end. Bigern
