I am leaning heavily towards the Trophy after sitting on a 96 today. Real comfy, much like my Concours. I'm trying to figure out if the Trophy is up to real sporty riding though.
My latest round of questions are about doing work on the bike. To adjust the valves on a 97-00 model, what needs to be removed? Connie needs the side fairings and tank come off, about the same? Also, Never had a chain bike before, so how hard is changing out the sprockets/chain? I have tools, but no garage, so are we talking a couple of hours? Oil changes, plastic removal? If there is a website that I can check out, point me on my way! I really appreciate all the help I've gotten so far.

I just did mine the for the first time, so it was slow going. It's not difficult, once you get the hang of it. Mostly I just hate the tedious work of removing/installing all those little fairing screws

I went from a Concours (with 102K on it) to a Trophy and found it to be a faster and handier bike then the Concours. The ego part is nice as well! Maintenance is no different then the Kow except for the chain. The latter ones are easier to change because you don't have to drain the oil to get at the front sprocket.

Where in Westchester are you? I was born and raised there until I move to PA then moved here in SC.
