i've got a tall screen on my one, does the job fine but when upto about 80+ it's *****... the wind seems to thrash around it and makes a noise like when you have one car window open sliphtly at high speed.... i think i prefer nake to that!

do the holes in the screen sort this issue?

I haven`t noticed that much noise to tell the truth ,but I can tell that it doesn`t suck me forward as much .But this was the purpose of the holes. I only have my Sprint for comparison purposes,so the noise levels are very different. But I am very happy with how much more quiet the Trophy is to ride, even with my face shield up!!!

Doublenikkel:

Have 01 Sprint ST, thinking of moving to 00 1200 Trophy. The ST requires just a bit more effort than is comfortable: all that leaning forward business! What's more, at 5'8" [30" inseam] the oem screen gives a lot of turbulence in the face, not to mention bugs! Have a touring screen for colder times, but it's not cold in VA now.

Hoping you can give a quick comparison of riding position and wind effects on these 2 bikes. In particular, how does one get rid of the Trophy's vacuum effect, and how can turbulence be managed for pillion comfort?

The only late-model Trophy I have tried was very nice, but it wore D&D's that made it sound like a pair of 1st-gen Bonnies with TT pipes.

Any comments from the group re: the 00 BRG Trophy from TN that is on eBay now?

Get a screen with the PRV(pressure relief vents) It is a subtle difference ,but it does help with the vacuum effect for me. The Trophy will still lean you forward ,but only a tiny bit. My Trophy is my long hauler and my Sprint is my play bike. I can`t believe that I waited so long to get a Trophy,I say go for it as you`ll probably love it. The Trophy is a tall bike as well and heavier.I`m 5`10' and have no problems. The wheelbases are almost the same , the handling is great and still sharp.Just obviously not as flickable. My Sprint hasn`t seen much action since I got the Trophy. For comparison purposes I have a 32 inch inseam at 225lbs. There are also riseres available for the Sprint from Gen-Mar. to helpreduce your lean and reach.

Great,I`m sure you`ll love it. I also got mine from E-bay and it was a good experience. I failed to mention that Gen-Mar also has risers for the Trophy.Thinking about getting a pair myself. :chug:
