Hi to everybody. I wanted to ask you if to the Triumph are thinking to a new Trophy. An Italian magazine, some years ago, hypothesized a new Trophy three cylinders with final transmission type Moto Guzzi or BMW. (I don't know the english word, in italian language is cardano)
The Italian Triumph owners are not very interested to this type of motorcycle. In Italy, on 3000 sold motorcycles, 1500 are Speed Triple.

Well, if they came out with a new Trophy...I would buy it !!!

I just wish we could get the Benelli over here......My 1st bike was a Benelli Banshe and I have a soft spot for the old marquee.......The Novocentro Tre is one sexy looking bike.....oh well, if they were over here I would just be broke more than I am now so in a twisted kind of way it is good for me....

On a recent visit to the factory I ask this question. They told me there was no plans for a new Trophy in the forseeable future. It seems to me that they are concentrating on their very popular models such as Tiger, Speedtriple & ST. Even though the big 4 was one of their best built bikes & engines.
Shame!!
Still, they liked my Trodent!
p.s. the word for the transmission is "shaft drive."

thanks. I have the same feeling. unfortunately in Italy there are few used trophys and that the motorbikes of half age are oppressed by new taxes and restrictions to the road circulation, otherwise I would pick it up used.

Your English is much better than my Italian! You are doing just fine, my friend.

Triumph feels that people who would buy a Trophy might instead buy a Tiger or Sprint, or maybe even a Rocket III. I bought my 2001 900 in 2003, and I was the first owner. It spent two years sitting on a showroom floor, and that is not unusual for Trophys in the U.S. Triumph does not want bikes that do not sell, nor do the dealers.

I doubt we'll see another bike like the Trophy from Triumph, sad to say.

In fact, I have possessed a '99 Sprint St and in January I'm going to take a new Tiger 1050. Maybe they have undertaken the correct road for a good raising of the mark in the world, also in that countries as Italy where their quota of market is very small.
It's very sad to say that we' ll never see a new Trophy. above all seeing what are doing BMW and Moto Guzzi.

The first modern Triumph I rode was a 900 Trophy. It belonged to a friend of mine. He put 25,000 miles on it in one year. I so wanted one, but was unable to get one for a number of reasons.

So now I ride a Bonneville. As it was the only true standard MC in the line at the time I bought it. I love the thing, but I want to take some long tours and want hard bags and some protection from the wind for those 500+ mile days.

It is time for a new Trophy.

With a driveshaft.

Triumph has the technology in the Rocket III. Scale it down to one litre, and give us a world beating modern sports tourer.

Please.

P.S.

The Sprint is no substitute for a real sports touring machine. It is far to "sport bike" oriented to fill that position in the line.

Triumph, you have the opportunity to build a world beater here, don't pass it up.
