Has anyone tried to install a hand or grip protector on their trophy? I am looking for something to keep the wind off my hands on long cold rides......

Try a set of handlebar mitts, such as the Polar Hands, that are used on snowmobiles. I used a set of them for years on my old BMW and they worked great. I later found some of the old Vetter "Hippo Hands" which are bigger and roomier, but seemed a bit cooler in use. Have you got heated grips??

That's me...cold hands, warm heart (yeah, right!!): Jim

Tigers are really a expensive option.

I like my Gauntlets. PolarHands are the way to go. Mine are by Moose,(ATV) they are Ok. But you really need to give attention as they don't allow room for mistakes with the levers.

On a REALLY chilly morning last Nov. I used hand warmers and taped them to the grips. It was a .99 cent remedy that worked quite well with the gauntlets.

Cheers
Tom.

Its about 7 degrees celsius here now, but I`m still using my summer gloves. Guess its time to get some warmer gloves soon, but I`ll never put an grip protector on my bike, it completely ruins the looks of this great bike. (in my opinion)

I fitted the ' Hand Deflectors ' that Triumph market for the Trophy. They fit to the bottom of the screen where it meets the fairing. They do seem to make a bit of difference but I haven't used them in cold weather yet. They retail for about £19-20 but i was lucky enough to get some for half that from ebay. I used them in the rain and they directed a jet of water straight onto my gloves at lower speeds, which was odd and a trifle distracting. They also look a bit ugly, but then I don't think of the Trophy as a ' Catwalk ' model anyway. I am considering heated grips as I tried heated gloves and they were just too much of a fiddle. Good luck with it.

Have you ever ridden in the rain? The rain water runs right off the the sides of the windshield and right on the controls and hand grips. I know they make a deflector but I think the year limitation is 1998? Is there a fairing change where it will not fit 2003? I have a pair of the tourmasters gloves and aerostich three fingered rain gloves which do well but I cant help but think that a wind brake would help......I am into the distance not the look.....I thought that a grip guard might be a way to beat the rain and temp. You Norway guys obviously have ice water in the veins...... :-g

Is it not dark all the time when it's cold in Norway? Who...if anyone? would see how you ("ruined the looks of your great bike"?)

Besides...All you can see are the instruments.

Dress warm, ride now, and let others worry about how your bike looks.

Cheers,
Tom.
