While the girl is down I discovered something and am looking forward to exploring it. I had to move her around w/o the seat. Sitting 4" lower makes her a different bike. I think it's possible to make a seat that would be comfortable and would lower the rider between 2"-3". The problem with this bike is the top-heaviness. Loaded-up with a full tank and an over-tall shield, throw in a top-box and she's down-right dangerous on the free-way around semi's or in volatile weather. The wind *****-near killed me this spring, I'm on a mission to correct this issue. Take your seat off and try it out, let me know your thoughts.

The voice of experience here: the rear fender design limits how low you can make a seat. I've had the best luck with a Corbin and thick soled logger boots. I've got a 29" inseam and I can just flat-foot it.

Why are almost all of today's bike built for folks with legs like a giraffe? Jim

Jim, w/o relly getting into it I estimate a void of at least 1.5 inches between the battery and coolant resevoir and the seat pan. I need an old seat pan to modify. I may be barking up the wrong tree.

I had my factory saddle reworked, but the rear fender, where it drops under the saddle, is very close to the pan. That's when I went to a Corbin. The Corbin might be able to be "shaved" a bit in the foam, but I'm happy with it as it is so far.

Keep the rubber side down and stay between the trees: Jim

A voice of different experience here Narrowminded. Being 6'4" with a 36" inseam, I can't speak to the problem of the bike being too tall. In this case, it's perfect for me. There have been post on here about lowering the bike but turning the chain adjusters 180 degrees if I remember correctly. There are a couple of other small adjustments to be made also, but I don't remeber what they are.

Full fairing bikes are going to be a handfull next to semi's no matter what. On the plus side, our frame mounted fairings on the Trophy's is a heck of a lot better than the fork mounted fairing that is on a FLH. That was a sphincter tightening experience the first time for me. :-D
