In the year i have owned my trophy, its panniers have let in water. I finally solved the problem by removing the 3 hole plate washer inside the pannier that secures the lockable clasps and applied silicone sealant between the plate and inside of the pannier and on the 3 protruding studs. Then refitted the parts and so far no water has leaked in. to do all 4 clasps/locks took about 3/4 hour. Don't remove the clasp (like i did) other wise the small spring and ball bearing which keeps the carry handles in the folded position can fly out and get lost. Got to worth a go considering the cost of Triumphs waterproof pannier liners.

I use a plastic garbage bag , I have for years when traveling cross country with soft bags on my T-160. If you are out riding cross country you need to put your gear in the bags, I also use the Triumph liners. I have been known to put skivvies and socks into large freezer bags roll out the air and you are good to go. I don't think you can make them completely water tight.

I also use the large freezer bag method. I put the T-shirt, socks, and skivvies for each day in the bag, and it's a place to put them back into after they have been worn.

I've never trusted the waterproofness of any factory bags. My Givi topcase, which clamps down when you latch it, I trust. In my Triumph bags, I use a camping drybag, basically a bag made out of rainsuit-type nylon with a folding, locking top.

SKIVVIES? i assume you mean underpants and if so how did the name skivvies come about. I've heard them called Skiddies on this side of the water, and that makes sense, they catch skid marks. But skivvies............wots that all about.

Skivvies are underpants...Navy term, I assume that the Royal Navy uses a like term for them, Its tradition in the US Navy, BTW I met a lot of Royal Navy Sailors and Australian Sailors in Hong Kong during the Viet Nam War.
