I just ordered a set of Avon Azaro 45 and 46 to replace my Bridgestone BT020 tires.
I am experiencing extreme cupping on the front, I had the same cupping on the last set also. Everything on the bike checks out headstock , alignment etc. any ideas on why the front is cupping?

Dudley,
You didn't say how many miles or riding style but on my Sprint 900 the ALL cupped eventually except one, the Metzeler Z6. 14,000 miles. I am a repeat buyer. I'm guessing that tire pressure is a key to tire life but I'm running my pressures to where I like how the bike handles, 35/41 or 42 front/rear.

I have around 4000 miles on this set and I'm fussy about tire pressure 36, 42 f/r. and I ride pretty agressive. We'll see how the Avons work I'll change them out in another 1000 miles or so along with new sprockets and chain.

That is pretty low mileage, even for an 020, but I'm no fan. For the world's largest tire mfgr I have to wonder what it is they're doing. Have you bought the sprockets for your driveline change yet?

I was disappointed in the Bridgestones. I was pretty anal about keeping the pressures at 36/42 and the front started cupping and the back was shot at about 5000 miles. I have the Avons on now after a few guys on here recommended them and with 2000 miles on them right now, both are looking good. I did take the advice of a couple of guys on here and run the fronts at 38 psi. They said in their experience that it kept the front Avons from cupping.

Dudley,You're gonna love the Avons.Be sure to run 38 lbs front and 42 lbs rear and you'll be amazed at the mileage you get out of them.

I received the Avons today and yes, I ordered a DID chain and triumph sprockets, I have two teaching gigs the next few weeks so I don't know if I'll have time to get the bike on the lift to change out the chain etc. until the end of July.

I have about 5000 miles on my rear BT 020 rear tire, and its almost done. I think I`ll try something different next time.

I seem to be the only one on the Sprint/Trophy forums running the Metzeler Z6. They are hands down the best I've mounted in terms of life and ridability. 8,000 miles on the rear, most of it loaded with 130 lbs of gear and touring. I haven't had Azaros since the 35/36 models. I liked them, got 6k miles under the same conditions.

I must be the one out here with the good rubber luck because my stock Bridgestones gave me over 13K miles and my second set, the BTO2's are already over 10K. I run stock tire PSI at 36/41 and am hoping to get another trip out of multi state out of them.

Ride on--
