No reason no excuse other than the almighty Dollar/ pound what ever. Why does the entire world always want a cheaper way to do something that doesn't need to be. Charge another $2000/bike. Keep the mystique and nostalgia.....This is *****
Trade in the Union Jack for a rice field. ....a disgrace!!!!!!!!
I am going to BMW........ at least until they are made in Mexico

What the f***?

EVERY manufacturer of cars and motorcycles world wide buys components from other manufacturers HD BMW Honda - all of them.

So what if Triumph decide they would rather have their OWN factory in the far -east to fabricate some frame components and some other sundry parts. At least they control every aspect of that fabrication.
All the bikes get built in the UK at Hinkley. whereas some BMW bikes DON'T get built in the Good Ol' European Union but in some weird little country called USA.

Doesn't matter what you buy - we live in a world market - that means that Triumph - a tiny little privately owned company - wouldn't exist if it couldn't be competitvely priced with the rice-rockets.

Rest assured - at this moment in time EVERY TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLE EVER BUILT IN A FACTORY WAS BUILT IN TINY LITTLE ENGLAND. :hammer:

Sorry Tooth!

As an englishamerican born in the us and lived here my adult life I get strangely sensitive about this place.

I guess when I bought my original 1200 back in the early 90's I was nursing a hope that Triumph wouldn't be just a short term resurgence in the world of motorcycling.

I've been around the triumph factory here and it's a brilliant place. And the guys are regular guys who take a great deal of pride in the bikes they put together. And they drink beer!

Someone somewhere went off half cocked and didn't pick up on the compnent side of the thai equation.

I don't think we'll see any triumph bikes rolling out of anything else other than a triumph factory in the UK.
