Well... I never got around to getting higher rate springs.
So... What have you folks done?
I'm considering Hagon, they are progressive and very similar to OEM.
The Race Tech springs are constant wind. I "believe" they are designed to mate up with their Gold valve emulator. I spoke with them on the ph. and I wasn't really happy with the answer I got about the stock spring rate...He seemed a bit unsure.

That being said, I know the Gold valve emulator set up is THE way to go. I just didn't want to cash-out $450-500us. to get it done.

Keep The Sticky Side Down,

Tom.

I was wondering the same thing. What about Progressive Suspension? Their springs are about half the price of the other guys. Are they any good?

I checked their site and a few other places. I don't think they make Trophy springs any longer.

I just got an e-mail from the Hagon Distributer. It says that Hagon springs are OEM replacement and would not be any more stiff. They said to try Race Tech.

I may just spend the $ for the Gold valve.

C-ya at the Janesville open house?

I went wild and had custom Ohlins front and rear. I'm rather large, 6ft-3in, 295lbs. Had heavy set up made to carry touring loads and twoo up riding. Total was about 1500 bucks and worth every penny! Ride is smooth and predictable, sticks like glue. My thought is get the best parts you can afford. The ride is worth it. Good luck, Jeff

I hear ya Jeff, I'm probably ordering the Gold valve emulator set up today.

We are doing the Dragon in June, I'm sure I'll have a lot more fun after the install.

Tom.

When's the open house? I assume you're talking about Team Triumph. I couldn't find a mention on their website.

I ordered stiffer springs for my 1200 from progressive and because they don't make them for the Trophy any more, the tried matching other springs from other bikes. at their 3rd attempt i asked for my money back, a bloody disaster. Ordered a set from hagon, arrived within a couple of days. the bloke i spoke to did tell me the spring rate, can't remember what it was though.
Anyway, i fitted the hagons and set the rear shock to max and the bike handled a lot better in the bends and the nose dive when braking was reduced significantly. Trouble was when i stuck the wife on the back there was no more adjustment left on the rear shock which made the handling ***** due to the rear squatting. Obviously need stronger rear shock, which from Hagon is about 450 quid with remote preload adjuster (a must if wishing to adjust regularly). Had to put the stock springs back in until i can afford stronger rear shock. Dunno if that is of any help ?

I have the springs from Sprint Manufacturing in the UK and they are a significant improvement. About 10% stiffer than stock and progressive. I'm pretty light 170lbs so they work for me very well.

We will do the Gold valve and 90kg. race tech springs on the 4/29 I talked with two of race tech's street tech's and both say it's piece of cake.

When she's back on the road, I'll give everyone the results

Thanks for the assistance.

Tom.

Ride Height Adjusters is the way to go, these devices jack up the back end and leave the suspension to do it's job. The bike maintains a good balance when two up and handles like a new Daytona when solo. ;o)
