Just swapped the front brake pads on my '96 Trophy 1200. I am having difficulty getting the second set of pads in as all four of the pistons do't want to compress. Either one pushed the other out or I can't compress all four at the same time. Any tricks of the trade out there? I'd rather take my time and do it right then screw something up and have my machanic give the "that look".

Tom

After compressing one side of the caliper's pistons, put a new pad or piece of wood in there to keep them from coming out when you do the other ones. You could open the bleeder which would remove the pressure as you push them back, but then you've got to deal with the extra work of rebleeding the brakes, etc. Just make sure that the pistons haven't "cocked" themselves which would make it hard to push them in until they straighten out.

Hope this helps: Jim
