Just getting ready to ride from FL to CA. My '96 1200 Trophy has not had the collant serviced as of yet. The manual says to let the dealer do it, but at $65/hour I try to do all of the light stuff. Before I start to dig in, anything I should be concerned about? Special tools, etc.?

Thanks!

No, I did mine awhile back, nothing too it. I used the pipe that goes into the water pump to drain it, then just flushed and drained it a few times till the water ran clear, refilled it with GM spec 150kmile coolant and it's good to go. :-D

I'll give that a shot. Is there no drain plug for the collant?

The lowest of the three mounting bolts on the water pump is one drain. The other is on the left side of the block, about halfway down the cylinders, towards the front.
