I used to own a Trophy 3, and I loved it with one exception - heat on legs. I'm thinking of a purchase again, and wanted to explore this. I saw once where someone had installed vents (from a car a/c) into the fairing. They were out of sight. Open, they would direct air on the legs. Close for winter. Anyone used this solution or have other solutions for the heat. I would not do this again, but I did ride one day with short pants, and the heat actually burned my left thigh.

Hopefully you do not ride in shorts anymore.!! Summers in SC were a problem with the heat but on fitting a set of cruising style forward footpegs, at the lower rear fairing mount location, I found the warm air flow then passed under my legs. plus I ran only distilled water and water wetter in the radiator for the summer months and engine temperature dropped by 20 to 25F. Many racing bikes use only distilled water to keep coolant temperatures lower as water is the most efficient and fastest heat exchange fluid.

Forgive me if this is out of line but you have to be crazy to ride in shorts. Use some common sense!

It's a product that is combined with water in your cooling system. It dissipates heat better than water or antifreeze and is not slippery like antifreeze so it can be used in racebikes.

It has no antifreeze capability, so it can only be used in summer.

What about corrosion or rust?

Not really a problem due to the use of distilled water and the short period, about 6 - 8 weeks in South Carolina, it will be in the motor. As soon as the weather starts to cool change back to the antifreeze combination.

6-8 weeks! There's at least 5 months between extreme frosts in Ohio. I could leave this stuff in for, I'm guessing, up to 7 months.

I found that it was only the high temperature weeks, the 2 months at the center of summer, that required the straight water and water wetter treatment. :???:

Water Wetter contains rust and corrosion inhibitors, which they claim work better than those in antifreeze.
