The differences between the 96 and 02 Trophy are minimal at best. I bought a service manual for my 02 Trophy and for nearly all procedures there is no difference in the different year models produced since 96. Seems like any differences are mainly minor and cosmetic. Now, if only Triumph had done it right and added fuel injection and shaft drive. Despite this, it is a hell of a bike, with the only exception being that annoying fuel starvation problem that I have been dealing with.

The only real differences are in the body work. The upper fairing and windsheild are a little different between the 96-97 models and the 98 and up models.

Yeah, the front fairing was a little smaller and so was the windsheild. Triumph used to offer hand deflectors for the 96-97 Trophys to cure some buffeting around there as compared to the 98 and later bikes.
