OK, one last "problem". The clock on my '99 works when it want to. It will be dead when I start out but after a little while it starts working. I'll reset it and it's fine for the rest of the day. The next morning I'll discover it stopped again. I've wiggled the wires behind the clock and that doesn't do anything. The fuses are OK.

Am I missing something or is it new clock time? :???:

Sounds as though your battery could be at fault, after a run it's providing more charge ? :???:

I thought it might be too so I put a charger on it and it showed full charge. Could be a dead cell though. I'll look into that.

The battery it is!!! Even though the charger showed full, there was some crud around the terminals and after cleaning them, the clock works again!!

There was apparently enough juice to start the bike just fine but not to keep the clock running after it stopped for a while.

Well, $65.00 and a new battery latter - it wasn't the battery. There is a plug that I happen to feel around for on the very top of the clock that was loose. I've played around with it and got it working but if it stops again, I'll have to take the front of the fairing off and fix it correctly.

My clock did the same thing. Took the upper fairing off and unplugged the connectors to the clock, cleaned them and also tightened them up. Seemed to do the trick.
