What material are the fairings, side covers etc. made of?

I know we refer to them as "plastic" but is it realy plastic or is it fibreglass.

I need to make some cosmetic repairs as I lay my bike down trying to get up onto the sidwalk and scratched the fairing.

What materials are suitable for these repairs?

I'm not a stranger to repairs with fibreglass but can't make out the fairing material.

So I'll use "Plastic Padding & Hardener" to effect my repairs instead of fibreglass.

You can buy ABS glue at hardware stores and fix breaks and cracks. I've even ground up a piece of ABS pipe and mixed it with the glue to fill deep scratches. The glue bonds by melting the plastic.

Over here in Bulgaria (behind the old iron curtain) our harware stores are not geared up for special materials and equipment so when I ask for a spicific material like ABS glue for my motorcycle fairing repairs ..... they go HUH

!!

ABS plastic glue? Is that the same as the stuff used to glue/"weld" plastic drainage piping together?
