Nology Coils

I know this has been done to death but here we go,My 1999 1200 is showing signs of needing new coils, slight misfire at low rpm, just doesnt idle right. Carbs have been re-freshed internally not long ago.

I was wondering where the best place is to find these coils these days?

It just started doing this last sunday morning, runs fine once its past 2000 rpm but I figure it will get worse as it goes. It has about 24000 miles on it. I did replace the ignition pickup when I first got the bike.

Thanks for any help!

I installed Nology coils on my 2002 1200 and it made a big difference. Starts quicker, never a stumble and it seems to warm up faster. I've lost the record of where I got them, but worth the money.

Ive looked around a little, several places dont have them in stock, some dont state what they really fit.
Be good to get the right coils the first time.

Www.bikebandit.com has it listed as a universal fit product. I seem to remember that's where I purchased mine. But that's been several thousand miles ago.

Lucky me I suppose, PO installed new nology coils 6 months before I bought it from him

Fwiw, she fires up quite easily, just a tiny bit of "choke" when under 45 degrees F...above that I don't even need the choke.

Nology is out of the twin outlet coils that the 1200 takes, they directed me to www.fasteddys.com
Eddy had the coils in stock, lots of them and he sent me out a set rt away, got em from WI in about 3 days.
Eddy seems like a good guy, gave me a good price.

Let me say this, Fast Eddy has some pretty awesome customer service. Called him to chk stock, ordered online and shipped same day. I mean I called him after 3pm central and he shipped that afternoon. that was today btw.

Interesting I guess, that BB shows two different Nology coils for my '97 900 Trophy - and neither of them is a 0.6 ohm coil. One is a 3.0 ohm, the other a 0.3 ohm (according to the BB description, anyway).

I don't know that I NEED new coils; but since I have things opened up I figured I may as well do it.

Bike Bandit doesn't know a gasket from a motocross helmet. And I mean that literally, having gotten the latter after ordering the former. Last time I ordered something from them that wasn't a Triumph part, I had to get the BBB involved. Sounds like people are having a better time with Fast Eddy...

Cheers,
-Kit
