I'm hoping to buy a Trophy 900 sometime soon. There's a 1997 model at a local dealer with 38,000 miles for a reasonable price. There's a 2000 model for sale in Texas with 13,000 miles for somewhat more money. I'm trying to figure out how much difference is there between the bikes. Is the newer bike enough better to be worth the price premium and the trouble of transporting it about 1300 miles?
How much changed on the Trophy 900s between 1997 and 2000? Is there someplace I can look this sort of information up? The seller in TX thinks the 2000 is worlds better, but then he's selling it.
Both bikes are blue, which is the color I prefer.
I looked at a 1996 Trophy 900 last year, and I have to say that the bodywork on the 1997 seems noticeably more solid. I don't know if this is a manufacturing change, or just a quirk of one or the other bike (or if I'm more excited about having one now, and biased).
Anyway, I sure would appreciate any opinions on the matter, especially if they're more informed than mine!
