I purchased an MP3 player a few months ago to listen to when I ride. I am no audiophile, but I sure do enjoy having music. The one I purchased is a Rio brand and I attached the elastic arm band to my clutch reservior. I have removable ear pads in my helmet so I split the seam in them and placed the ear bud speakers in them. The sound is ok, less than 75, but now I want some good speakers. I was thinking Etymotic e-6i (there is a thread on the sporttouring.net about them).
Anyone have a suggestion?
Mark

BTW-this is the only part of the Rat page I frequent, that is why I did not post it in General.

Hi Mark I just mounted a set of Rumble Road powered speakers that I run a MP3 and mini disc. They sound GREAT!!
They are a little pricey but I found a pair on Ebay at less than
half price. They are made to mount on the handlebars but I
mounted in the fairing. The webpage to check'em out is

Mark - I have the Etymotic E-6 earphones - they work great. I have an XM radio and run the output through a cheap inline amplifier (bought it at Radio Shack, identical to the Boosteroo only cheaper). I stuff the amp and extra cords in my tank bag.

Griff-what amp did you buy? I think this might work for me.

Mark: It was a headphone amplifier, runs off two AA batteries. You plug the audio input - a 1/8 stereo plug into it and then plug your headphone jack into the amp. There are actually 3 locations for output, but I only use one. Radio Shack had only one type of amp like this.
